Pemba Island has been separated from the mainland of Tanzania and Zanzibar for decades, leaving an untouched and pristine island of great beauty and fertility. The mosaic of forests, swamps, mangroves, hidden beaches, and lagoons is scattered with the ruins of mosques and tombs, mostly reclaimed by the forest—sites that date back to Arab domination when Pemba Island was seized by the Sultan of Muscat (Oman) in the 17th century. He loved the Spice Islands, established his court in Zanzibar, and ruled Muscat from there.

Snorkeling here is breath-taking! Even close to the beach it’s possible to see bigger fishes. Unlike most places in Pemba, the tides make no difference to these activities. Among the locals, Misali has religious status as they believe the prophet Hadhara used the island as his prayer mat. The strong Islamic environmental maintenance ethic is used to support management and environment education, and the island is a 'sacred gift' to the earth from the Islamic faith as part of an ecumenical Millennium celebration arranged by the World Wildlife Fund in Nepal in November 2000. After the tour we take lunch and relax on the island until the time to leave. There after we ride back to the hotel for leisure, dinner and stay overnight, The Aiyana Resort

Many of its islands and atolls are protected by a coral barrier that creates lagoons of emerald water, perfect for snorkeling. On the other side of the reef, more experienced divers can find underwater landscapes that will take your breath away. With a tropical climate, the water temperature never drops below 22ºC, which means almost any time of the year is good for diving. The visibility exceeds 40 metres at some dive sites, so you can even give yourself the luxury of going on a night dive. Put on your fins and enjoy the action! Otherwise, you can have a leisure walk to discover the nearby village life, go to Chake Chake for the sightseeing or just stay idol at the Hotel. Dinner and stay overnight, The Aiyana Resort
